Description
Ultracet is an effective analgesic drug. It represents a conjunction of two FDA approved prescription medications, Tramadol Hydrochloride (a controlled substance, also known as Ultram) and acetaminophen (also known as Tylenol), designed to effectively treat moderate pain (for example, to prevent pain before/after dental operations). Ultracet is utilized for short term pains.
Compound
The both compounds are effective painkillers but they have various ways of acting.
Ultram relieves pains as following:
- It affects opiod receptors
- It stimulates the production of serotonin (hormone of happiness).
Such double action decreases transfer of pain throught the nerve signals.
The Tylenol, the second compound of Ultracet reduces pain by acting on brain and central nervous system.
Dosage
The dosage of Ultracet to be taken in is various for various individuals. Take directly as prescribed by your therapist in your RX, or you may follow the label indications. Do not overdose or skip dosages without consulting your therapist.
Administration
Usually Ultracet is taken every 4-5 hours, two tabs at once.
